Description

The data is the raw data from the thesis titled "Evaluation of omission testing as a method for identifying important odorants in a mixture." The research was completed in two phases. In the first phase, intensity matching, the participants evaluated varying concentrations of each of four different compounds in comparison to a standard using a 150 mm line scale. The raw data can be used to determine the concentration of each compound matching the perceived intensity of the standard for each panelist. In the second phase, omission testing, the participants evaluated 20 samples in each of 20 sessions using A-Not-A tests. The samples included mixtures of all five compounds, mixtures with one omitted compound, and mixtures with two omitted compounds. The data can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of omission testing.
