Since 2000, the University of Minnesota’s Consortium on Law and Values in Health, Environment & the Life Sciences has conductedoriginal research, served students and faculty, and advanced public dialogue and understanding on emerging issues at the intersection of science and society. Attracting major grants to advance its work, the Consortium also awards grants to graduate and professional students at the U of M to train new scholars and build future research capabilities in law, policy, values, and science. The Consortium is one of only six university-wide centers at the University of Minnesota, crossing nearly every college on the Twin Cities campus. The vibrant community of students, scholars, policy makers, and clinicians, have made the Consortium a leading national program, and they have helped build the University of Minnesota’s reputation as the place to turn to for incisive, honest debate on crucial issues surrounding law, values, and science.
