Research interests
My expertise is in the field of developmental psychopathology – studying risk and protective factors related to internalizing problems, depression and suicide in adolescence. My focus is on stress activation and regulation systems that are implicated in depression including physiological response systems (e.g., HPA axis), neurocognitive systems (e.g., executive functioning, MRI), and environmental systems (e.g., how parents socialize emotion, cultural influences) as well as exploring intervention as a probe to facilitate understanding of mechanisms of the neurobiological stress system.
