I am Director of Sports Medicine at University of Minnesota Smiley’s residency clinic.  I am certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.  My practice entails caring for active patients with bone, joint and soft tissue injuries.  Additionally, I collaborate with the simPORTAL center and the Biomedical Engineering field to create a Hip Injection Skills Trainer model to advance medical student and resident training using ultrasound for injection procedures.  I was awarded the Discovery Fund Grant through the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health twice as the PI for Ultrasound-Guided Hip Injections Using Hip Simulation: A Curriculum for Family Medicine Residents.  I am also interested in exercise promotion through ACSM Exercise Is Medicine On Campus to improve the overall health of people on campus and in the surrounding community.  I value the opportunity to teach medical students and residents about Sports medicine through precepting, didactic sessions, and on-field experiences.  Furthermore, I volunteer as a team physician for high school sporting events, the Minnesota High School League, the Loppet Foundation, Target’s USA soccer cup, Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and am a past National Ski Patrol member.  I am a current member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Society for Sports Medicine.
