Research interests

Dr. Montezuma joined the department of Ophthalmology & Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota (UMN) in 2010 as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology/ Vitreoretinal surgery. She has subspecialty expertise in providing medical and surgical care for all retina diseases in adults and children. she received her M.D. from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Dr. Montezuma completed her ophthalmology residency and her fellowship training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/ Harvard Medical School. Dr. Montezuma is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the AAO, ASRS, ARVO and PAAO.

Dr. Montezuma's research interest focus on retina prosthesis, age related macula degeneration and angiogenesis.
