Abstract

The present scope of available knowledge about atmospheric deposition and its effects on agricultural lands, forests, ranges, parks, surface waters, and aquatic life in the U.S. is assessed. A coordinated research and monitoring program to manage acid rain and ameliorate the adverse effects of acid rain on plant and animal life is recommended.
