Abstract

A programmable solid-state current breaker is built using a power FET controlled locally by a closed loop analog current regulating circuit which in turn is controlled by a microcontroller. The circuit breaker is intended to be used in a three wire dc power distribution system. A variety of different conditions are monitored and compared to programmable values to determine the state of the switch.
