Abstract
A stand-level ratio model is presented. A model is also presented which distributes the total number of trees by diameter such that the basal area is consistent with total stand basal area. Comparisons with two approaches showed the ratio approach to be a practical and satisfactory alternative. Coefficients for the equations were developed for unthinned old-field and cutover, site-prepared loblolly pine plantations. -from Authors
