Abstract

A multifunctional wind tunnel facility that has the capability of characterizing the performance of heat and mass exchangers is described. An unusual feature of the facility is the measurement off our quantities of critical importance to the performance evaluation at four locations, respectively at the inlets and outlets of the ducts that feed and exhaust the exchanger. These encompassing measurements, taken together with their high accuracy not only permit definitive assessments of performance but also enable heat and mass balances to be evaluated without reliance on simplifying assumptions.
