Abstract

This paper presents an integrated CMOS RF front-end block design for a 1 GHz ISM band wireless telemetry system. The front end includes a LNA, a Gilbert-cell mixer with low frequency feedback, a local oscillator and an IF stage. The low frequency feedback suppresses offset and low frequency noise. The complete design is fabricated in a 0.5 μm CMOS process. The operation of all the components have been verified via experimental results. Measured conversion gain is 45 dB and overall power consumption is below 10 mW.
