Abstract
To the Editor: We are writing to inquire why an advertisement soliciting physicians to testify in a malpractice case was allowed to run in the Journal. The medical-legal milieu in which medicine is practiced now is already very disquieting to many physicians. The position the Journal has taken on the subject of conflicts of interest for physicians has always been a model of responsible behavior for physicians interested in maintaining the professionalism associated with medical practice.
