Androgyny as a standard of mental health

Abstract

This study investigated the relationship of the concept of androgyny to clinicians' standards of mental health. Results suggest that mental health professionals hold either an androgynous or masculine standard of mental health for women and for men. Clinical and social implications of the findings are discussed.
