Abstract

Many varied skin conditions show an annular pattern. Local cellular immunity is probably the major reason for this. Familiarity with the appearance of the skin in the disorders that result in ring-shaped eruptions, along with an awareness that the majority of these eruptions do not represent tinea or ringworm, will aid in correct diagnosis and selection of appropriate treatment.
