Abstract

A system had been developed to process automatically facial surface information recorded in a clinical environment. This system addressed the major problems created by the orthodontists' need for surface digitization. A structured-light stereo approach is what allowed for automatic processing of the facial information. That designed photogrammetric system is reviewed. Further, preliminary experimental work is presented on applying that system to test objects and on actual human subjects.
