Abstract

Gauge Chern-Simons couplings of pseudo-scalar bosons (axions) give F F ̃ source terms for axions. Black holes carrying gauge charges of both electric and magnetic type then exhibit external axion field strength hair. We calculate the axion hair so produced in a simplified weak field case, and discuss its physical implications.
