Abstract

Attendees at a recent Materials Research Society symposium on bio-inspired nanomaterials were left to wonder: of biotechnology and nanotechnogy, which will have a greater impact on the other? More and more studies are showing how much biology and nanotechnology have to offer each other. Methods in biology are now being applied to make nanomaterials that are difficult or impossible to fabricate by synthetic means.
