The peatlands of Minnesota are home to an interesting and diverse avifauna. Among the 304 species regularly found in Minnesota, 110 are listed as major users of peatland habitats. Most species and individuals are seen during the breeding season, while fewest are observed during winter. In general, no officially designated federal or state endangered or threatened birds species are found regularly in Minnesota's peatland.
