Abstract

Naomi Cahn and June Carbone have written a book, called 'Red Families v. Blue Families', to present their views on the relationships existing between states in the US where people vote for Republicans (Red) and Democrats (Blue). Naomi Cahn and June Carbone have stated in their book that people of these states have conflicting attitude toward their cultural and social behaviors. They state that the behavior of Blue families is conventional despite these attitudes, with rates of marriage higher than the national average and rates of divorce and teenage pregnancy considerably lower than the national average. Red families are emphasize on chastity before and conventional procreative sex after marriage. Teen sex is prohibited and abstinence education is considered good, as it encourages the young to avoid sex completely.
