Abstract

Carboplatin 400 mg/m² per month was evaluated as a single agent in 15 patients with multiple myeloma who had had one prior chemotherapy regimen. All but three were judged to have had some degree of refractoriness to prior therapy. Hematologic toxicity was frequent and sometimes severe. There were no responses. Further evaluation of standard-dose single-agent carboplatin in refractory myeloma does not appear warranted.
