Abstract

The design and applications of an avionics system for a miniature acrobatic helicopter were discussed. An onboard data acquisition system was required to collect input-output data for a helicopter performing aggressive maneuvers. The pilot inputs and the state information of the vehicle were recorded. The data collected from the flights was useful to build and validate the models that would be used to implement automated acrobatic maneuvers.
