Abstract

The existing measurement methods and applications are analyzed in this paper. A kind of non-electrode power frequency electric field sensor was developed based on the domain inversion of the LiNbO3 crystal plate. This kind of sensor was fabricated by integrated optics and has no metal part in it. It has high-integrated level and will affect the field under test very little. The key points of designing the sensor are analyzed, sensors for the measurement of power frequency electric field in power system are designed with proper parameters, and the manufacturing process is researched. Testing programs for this kind of sensor which has very large half wave electric field are designed and the characteristics of the sensor are tested. Testing system of power frequency electric field is established according to GB/T12720-1991 and the calibration test experiment of the sensor is carried out. The result of the experiment indicated that the sensor has good linearity of large range and is suitable for the measurement of power frequency electric field in power system.
