Abstract
In this first of two articles, I will be examining the evidence-based healthcare movement and its application to radiology in general and to women's imaging in particular. Both the strengths and limitations of this new medical tool will be discussed as well as the intellectual and technological requirements for the successful integration of evidence-based medicine into radiology training, research, and practice. Finally, I will briefly discuss the challenges and requirements for radiologists planning to use evidence-based healthcare in their various activities.
