Abstract
Of a serie of 158 outpatients with bulimia nervosa, 104 (65.8%) had tried diet pills and 29 (18.4%) had used them regularly for at least 1 year. Those who had used diet pills regularly were more likely to have started dieting at an earlier age, had had a higher maximum body weight, and were also more likely to abuse diuretics and enemas.
