Abstract

This paper presents and applies a formula for the controller of a delay system which is optimally robust to gap metric uncertainty. A controller is designed to achieve disturbance attenuation and robust setpoint following for a plant with two lightly damped poles and a non-trivial time delay. The performance is shown to be superior to that of a Smith predictor.
