Ethical Digital Libraries and Prison Labor?

Alexis Logsdon

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

Researchers make use of prison labor to build digital collections and projects: prisoners digitize microfilm and government documents, index records for the Mormon church, and digitize yearbooks. I will share an overview of digitization work in prisons and pose a series of questions about the ethical implications for digital scholarship.
