Abstract

This paper highlights certain aspects of an investigation which was carried out to test the performance of a number of statistical techniques when applied to classification and related problems in remote sensing. The work forms part of a project on classification in Remote Sensing being pursued within the National Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, which is partly funded by the National Programme for Remote Sensing of the Foundation for Research and Development of the CSIR.
