Abstract

This study shows that, compared with exercise-positive responses, recovery-positive responses to graded treadmill exercise testing are relatively rare. The patients who demonstrated these two different results could not be distinguished from one another on the basis of their clinical or electrocardiographic data, coronary arteriograms, left ventriculograms, or by their exercise capacity. We therefore conclude that a recovery-positive response has the same significance as an exercise-positive response to treadmill exercise testing.
