Abstract
Cigarette smoking is one of the most unphysiologic habits acquired by man. In order to voluntarily inhale smoke one must suppress powerful natural reflexes designed to protect the respiratory apparatus against noxious factors. In addition, the cigarette smoke induces or promotes cancers. Of course, one can argue that “like the definition of sin, the definition of a carcinogen which has significance to the environmental cancer problem is not an easy one.”.
