Abstract

Benjamin Senauer focuses on the food market effects of a global resource shift toward bioenergy. A crucial question is the relationship between increasing biofuels production and the worldwide increase in food prices. Food prices have been rising in general because increasing demand has outstripped supply for several reasons, which will be discussed, and biofuels are only one of the factors.
