Abstract
The program stimulates investments on nonindustrial private forest land. The federal government shares in the cost of noncommercial treatments on private forest land. As the investments must reach economic maturity, those made in 1974 were sampled in 1981 to determine the percentage of treated acres that have been retained. The high level of retention suggests that the loss of the treated acres is not a significant problem. -from Authors
