N2 - Upon reaction of (CO)3Mo(η5-C5H5CHNMe2), 2, with NaCp the new purple anionic complex [(CO)3Mo(η5-C5H5CHC5H4)]- PPh4+, 3, is formed almost quantitatively. The structure of 3 was determined by an X-ray diffraction study. 3 can be cleanly alkylated at the metal center.
