Abstract

General equations for the design of high-speed mechanisms are derived. The equivalent mass and stiffness of a 'structure' for each instantaneous position of a mechanism yields input for application of those general design rules. In order to verify these rules, several examples analyzed by FEMAP are used to demonstrate the results.
