Abstract

Glenoid exposure is a critical step in total shoulder arthroplasty. Earlier surgery, contractures, and asymmetric wear are just a few of the things that need to be recognized and planned for preoperative evaluation. Good exposure begins with meticulous positioning and hinges on carrying out adequate releases and bony cuts. The purpose of this review is to describe the various steps and techniques necessary to achieve good glenoid exposure during total shoulder arthroplasty.
