Abstract
Pericarditis and cardiac tamponade may be caused by a variety of disorders. Malignancy has to be excluded when dealing with cardiac tamponade. The diagnosis may be difficult, especially when concomitant pathologies are present or when the patient has previously received drugs. We present a case of cardiac tamponade with concomitant appendicitis. The occurrence of both. pathologies is probably based on coincidence, rather than on an etiologic relation.
