Abstract
A channelized micro-mechanical filter with 5 dB insertion loss and high extinction suitable for use as a channelized equalizing filter was demonstrated. The filter consists of free space optics, which demultiplex the wavelengths coming out of the fiber onto the tilt mirror array and re-multiplex them back onto the fiber. The pass bands were demonstrated to be sufficiently wide to permit its use with 40 Gb/s carrier suppressed return to zero source (CSRZ) signals.
