N2 - High heat fluxes are encountered in a number of important engineering and scientific systems, including high-power laser systems, plasma-facing components in fusion reactors, synchrotron and other x-radiation sources, microelectronics and optics packages, solar collectors, turbine engines, high-speed aircraft, and high-power RF cavities. In such system, thermal management often is a key issue, affecting overall system design, configuration, and fabrication. This paper presents an overview of thermal management issues in high heat flux systems, with emphasis on applications.
