Abstract
Many techniques have been developed to measure and analyze human joint motion; however, very few of these techniques have related the motion back to the joint constraints which produce the motion. This paper proposes a method of analyzing joint motion, based on screw axis theory, which relates the motion of the joint to its anatomic constraints. An important component of this procedure is the representation and calculation of the joint's motion. The paper also presents a method of computing Euler parameters, both real and dual, using an eigen value-vector procedure.
