Abstract

An overview of hydraulic conveyance facilities design. It covers head-race and tailrace canals, intake structures, gates and valves, tunnels and penstocks, total head loss estimation in intake- penstock systems, and hydraulic model studies. Fish protection and protection structures, and water hammer and its reduction are considered. A case study of a proposed hydropower project is presented. (J.M.M.)
