Abstract

Plant cell culture of Coleus blumei when entrapped in temperature-sensitive hydrogel beads [poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) containing 0.5% alginate], retained viability during the three weeks culture. Test also indicated that the hydrogel beads (containing 0.5% alginate) with immobilized cells were still temperature sensitive in aqueous solution.
