Abstract

The measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) parameter made with a sample of 9.7 × 106 BB̄ events collected with the CLEO II detector was discussed. The heavy quark theory was used to combine the observed yield of leptons from semileptonic B decay in the end point interval 2.2-2.6 GeV/c with the CLEO II data on B→ Xsγ. The results showed the measured CKM parameter to be (4.08 ± 0.63) × 10-3.
