Abstract

Barium ferrite films with high coercivity and good crystallinity were prepared on single crystal sapphire substrates by laser in-situ deposition. The film deposited at a substrate temperature of 900°C exhibits a preferential c-axis orientation normal to the film plane and has large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.
