Abstract

The renin-angiotensin system is thought to have a key role in the structural remodeling of the left ventricle that accompanies healing after acute myocardial infarction and is an important determinant of long-term prognosis. Does a direct renin inhibitor provide additive benefit to patients already treated with βblockers and either angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin-receptor blockers?
