N2 - The interfacial transport of mass, momentum, and heat, such as air-water, sediment-water, and a stratified water layer transport, is important for the water quality of a river-reservoir system. The mechanism by which interfacial transport influences the water quality of a river-reservoir system, and its response to various disturbances, are reviewed. The application of water quality enhancement technology to river-reservoir systems are then discussed.
