Intestinal helminths of fish from Basswood Lake, Superior National Forest, Minnesota.

Abstract

Nine species of helminths from fishes caught in the Basswood Lake in north-western Lake County, Minnesota, are stated to be "new distribution records". They are the trematodes Azygta angusticatida and Microphallus opacus, the cestodes Triaenophorui crassus; and Proteocephalus pinguis, the nematodes Contracaecum brachyurum, Dichelyne coiylophura and Spinitectus carolin; and the acanthocephalans Leptorhynchoides thecatus and Neoechinorhynchus cylindratus. The hosts examined were Esox lucius, Micropterus dolomieu and Stisostedion vitreum.H.H.W.
