Abstract

This paper proposes a blind method for joint estimation of hop timing, hop frequency, and 2-D direction-of-arrival (azimuth and elevation angles) of multiple wideband frequency hopped transmissions. Based on the principle of dynamic programming and trilinear decomposition of data collected from a multiple invariance sensor array, the method does not require knowledge of the actual hop patterns, and it remains operational even with multiple (unknown) hop rates, frequency offsets, and asynchronism. Simulation results illustrating the performance of the method are also presented.
