The paper presents the kinetic-viscosity characterization of a thermosetting polyurethane system. The method the authors use is to measure viscosity, eta , vs. reaction time, tau , at several temperatures, T. Then at the same temperatures extent of reaction, p, is measured vs. tau . Through network structure theory p can be used to calculate M//w, the weight average molecular weight vs. tau . The authors then propose a relation between eta and M//w which allows them to predict eta from kinetic data or vice versa.
