Abstract

The Langmuir waves associated with collisionless shocks were discussed. It was found that the conversion of the primary Langmuir wave to an electromagnetic wave at nearly the same frequency was affected by the density fluctuations. The generation of harmonics and bunching of trapped electrons into sheets were also elaborated.
