Abstract

In this paper, a three dimensional equivalent charge distribution is estimated from scalp EEGs with the Laplacian weighted minimum norm solution. Computer simulations have been conducted to test the feasibility of the proposed approach. A three-shell concentric head volume conductor model was used in the present simulation study. The algorithm was tested using two kinds of source configurations: 4-dipoles and 4-charges. In both cases, the present equivalent charge distribution can provide a 3D equivalent source image of the assumed sources.
