Abstract
Three recent cases of downward migration of soft double-coil silicone ureteral catheters prompted us to switch to a new configuration of the proximal portion of the stent. A case report of downward migration of a ureteral catheter despite this new figure-4 configuration is presented. Downward migration may be more dependent on the stent's stiffness than on its configuration. Historical development of ureteral stents is reviewed.
