Abstract

MinnSketch qq is a new conceptual design package for the generation of planar mechanisms. This program is implemented in C and runs in an X/Motif graphic environment. MinnSketch allows users to intuitively construct a mechanism from scratch and to rapidly develop the conceptual model to a workable solution. The purpose of developing this program was to create an intuitive design tool, so the user interface was designed to closely model the real-world environment. By directly manipulating the graphic conceptual model intuitively with the aid of the feedback from the simulation and analysis results, users can thoroughly understand their designs and thus can increase their productivity.
